Multiplication in Maths

In maths we have been learning about compensation. Compensation means taking away a little from a tidy ten or adding a little to a tidy ten. For example 6x38= 6x40= 240 -6x2=
240-12=228. What i did is i rounded it up to the nearest ten to make it easier for me then i took 6 lots of 2 away from 240 because 38 is 2 less than 40 and then added it up.
